Hospitality Lawful Intercept - ANTlabs InnGate 3

Lawful Interception 

Faced with heightened use of the internet in organized crimes such as data theft, pedophilia and in particular terrorism, governments around the world have introduced “Lawful Intercept” directives which require providers of Internet services to keep records of all the communications that take place over their Internet service and attempt to identify and record the user. The required information must be collected, stored for a specified period of time and made available to authorities at any time.

What this means is that as a hospitality service provider providing Internet access for your guests, you need to be responsible for knowing who accesses the internet or emails via your server and requires you to store information on user IDs, IP addresses and the date and time of communication.

InnGate 3 Supports Lawful Intercept InnGate 3 supports lawful intercept out-of-the-box by providing a Syslog readable trace of information such as:

1) Source IP address – This is the IP address of the user. We store both the internal and external addresses.

2) Destination IP address – This is the IP address of the site that the user is connecting to.

3) Connection type – This shows whether it is a HTTP connection or TCP/UDP connection.

4) Connection time – This is the time at which the connection is made.

5) MAC address – The MAC address of the user’s device.

6) User ID – Depending on the authentication type, this can be the Radius User ID, the PMS room number or credit card transaction ID.

With such detailed information, lawful intercept requirements are met, allowing authorities to  identify the user if the need arises.

MTS becomes Phybridge Certified Partner

MTS has become a Certified Partner with Phybridge. Phybridge creates wonderful products that allow hotels and others to use existing 1 pair cabling for use with IP devices. It not only allows IP traffic over 1 pair of existing cabling but also offers Power Over Ethernet (POE) as well. Upgrade Your Communications and Book More Rooms!

MTS upgraded a call center for a hotel group on the west coast. This upscale hotel group had a goal to increase their occupancy by handling more reservations. MTS worked with this management company to help increase their capacity and call handing to book their hotels. When it comes to booking, the owner possess a strong desire to keep a group at one of their own properties instead of going to another hotel, regardless of the brand. This hotel decided it was time to increase their capacity and the ability to sell more rooms by partnering with MTS. MTS will be expanding their existing Mitel 3300 while providing a dedicated group of agents to answer calls. Mitel’s (CCM) contact center management software, will provide data to the property to help enable better decisions.

Embassy Suites Texas Signs with MTS

MTS just signed the newest addition to the Hilton family, a new Embassy Suites in Texas. We will be providing a Mitel 3300 MXE controller with an embedded voicemail system, along with Mitel 5540, 5340, 5324 and 5312 phones for the administrative staff and two Telematrix 3100 series speakerphones for each guest room. The addition of a Metropolis Profit Watch 500, which integrates to the PBX and PMS systems, which will provide detailed call reporting and billing will further enhance revenue generation through accurate guest billing. Our project planning experience will provide this new Embassy Suites the confidence that all their communication needs are fulfilled today and for years to come. A New Server goes in at a Residence Inn in Florida.

After recent challenges with their previous gateway, their guest internet gateway failed. MTS helped get this Residence Inn up and running with a temporary solution to maintain their guest satisfaction and installed a HP ProCurve MSM760 Access Controller. The Residence Inn was very pleased with their temporary fix and their solution. This controller now provides their guests with a high performance networking solution that fits all their needs.
